Increase racial diversity
People of color account for 40% of the U.S. population, yet they make up less than 9% of the country’s CFP® professionals. Asian and Pacific Islanders make up 4% of CFP® professionals, Hispanics or Latinos, 3%, and Black or African Americans, 2%.
Close the gender gap
Female CFP® professionals grew 4% in 2021 to a total of 23.4% of all professionals. While strides are still being made, this is still less than half of females who represent the U.S. population.
Fulfilling career tracks
In a world of innovations, DIY strategies, and roboadvisors, there is a growing demand to have real people come alongside clients to help them make decisions and build plans for their futures.
HOW YOU CAN HELP underrepresented groups
Fund a scholarship
Contribute to the endowment that is used to fund scholarships for women and minorities who major in financial planning.
Offer internships
We have diverse financial planning students that are actively pursuing internships with institutions that value financial planning and have career tracks as Financial Planners and Advisors.
Nurture CFP® candidates
Hire Seniors as Associate Planners or Paraplanners while sponsoring them to study and sit for the exam. Create opportunities in their first three years to gain experience and utilize their CFP® marks.
